Quick form — a real person will review your info and reach out if you may have a case.

The short version: Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro have been linked to a severe stomach condition called gastroparesis — where the stomach stops moving food the way it should. If you took one of these drugs and developed serious stomach problems, you may be owed money. Filing is open, and there is no cost to check.

This page explains who may qualify, what the drug makers are accused of, and how to find out if your situation fits. If you'd rather go straight to a case check, the form is here.

What the Ozempic Lawsuit Is About

Ozempic and Wegovy (both made by Novo Nordisk) and Mounjaro (made by Eli Lilly) belong to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. They were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes, and more recently became widely prescribed for weight loss — with Ozempic and Wegovy becoming household names.

The lawsuits allege that Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly failed to adequately warn patients that these drugs can cause gastroparesis — a condition where the stomach muscles stop working properly, leaving food sitting in the stomach instead of moving through. Gastroparesis can cause severe nausea, vomiting, dehydration, and malnutrition. Some patients have required hospitalization, feeding tubes, or surgery. A 2023 study published in JAMA found that GLP-1 drugs were associated with a significantly increased risk of gastroparesis and other gastrointestinal conditions compared to other weight-loss drugs. (Sodhi et al., JAMA, 2023.)

More than 10,000 cases have been consolidated in federal court in Philadelphia (MDL 3094, E.D. Pa.). All defendants deny the allegations.

Who May Qualify

You may have a case if all three of these apply:

  • You took Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Rybelsus, or another GLP-1 drug for diabetes or weight loss.
  • You developed serious stomach problems — including gastroparesis (stomach paralysis), severe nausea and vomiting, ileus (bowel blockage or obstruction), or stomach pain requiring hospitalization or ongoing medical treatment.
  • Your stomach problems began after you started taking the drug.

You do not need to still be taking the drug. Many people who stopped Ozempic or Wegovy still have lasting stomach problems and may still qualify.

What Could This Mean for You?

We will not quote you a number. No global settlement has been reached in this MDL as of this writing, and we have no verified basis to project what any individual case may be worth. Anyone who gives you a specific dollar figure at this stage is guessing — and we won't do that.

What any case may ultimately be worth depends on the severity of your stomach condition, hospital and treatment costs, lost work, and how the litigation resolves. Those factors are unique to every person.

What we can say: the case check is free, there is no cost to you unless you win, and if you may have a case, the only way to know is to submit your information for review.

What About the Filing Deadline?

Every state sets its own deadline for filing a lawsuit. In some states it's as short as two years from when you first connected your stomach problems to the drug. The clock is already running for many people.

Once the deadline passes, you can't recover — even if you clearly would have qualified. Checking takes two minutes and costs nothing. Waiting could cost you everything.

Common Questions

I took Ozempic for weight loss, not diabetes. Does that matter?

No. The lawsuits cover people who took these drugs for any reason — weight loss and diabetes both qualify.

I stopped taking the drug months ago. Can I still file?

Yes. Many people who stopped Ozempic or Wegovy still have ongoing stomach problems. You may still qualify even if you're no longer on the drug.

Do I need my prescription records?

Helpful, but not required to start. Your pharmacy records and medical records can confirm what you were prescribed. The law firm can help you gather those if needed.

Does this apply in all states?

Yes. The cases are in federal court in Philadelphia, which covers people from all 50 states.

Does it cost anything?

No. The case check is free. If you sign up and your case doesn't recover money, you owe nothing.
