T-Mobile 2021 Data Breach Settlement

In August 2021, hackers stole personal information — including Social Security numbers, driver's license data, and account details — belonging to approximately 76.6 million current and former T-Mobile customers. A $350 million settlement was reached and approved by a federal judge.

Zoom Video Privacy Settlement

Zoom shared user data — including video meeting content — with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google without clearly telling users. Anyone who had a Zoom account in the United States between March 2016 and July 2021 was eligible to file a claim. Payments have been distributed.

AT&T 2024 Data Breach — Pending Settlement

In March 2024, AT&T disclosed that call and text records for approximately 109 million customers were illegally downloaded from a third-party cloud platform in 2022. Class action lawsuits were filed in federal court. A settlement is currently under negotiation and court review.

Roundup Weedkiller & Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Settlements

Bayer (which acquired Monsanto, the maker of Roundup) agreed to pay more than $10.9 billion to resolve tens of thousands of lawsuits from people who used Roundup and were diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Individual claims are still being reviewed. A proposed national class to resolve future claims received preliminary attention in federal court in early 2026.

PFAS “Forever Chemicals” in Water — Active Settlements

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are manmade chemicals used in nonstick pans, firefighting foam, food packaging, and more. They don’t break down and have been found in drinking water across the U.S. Two of the largest manufacturers — 3M and DuPont — have agreed to separate multi-billion dollar settlements with water systems nationwide. Individual exposure claims are still being evaluated.
