Philips Respironics recalled millions of CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator machines in June 2021 after discovering that the foam used to muffle sound could break apart and release toxic particles and gases. People who used recalled machines and suffered a health injury may qualify for individual compensation.
3M sold the U.S. military a dual-ended earplug called the Combat Arms Earplug v2 between 2003 and 2015. The earplugs were too short to form a proper seal, allowing dangerous noise to damage service members’ hearing without warning. U.S. veterans and active-duty military who suffered hearing loss or ringing in the ears (tinnitus) while using these earplugs may qualify.
Bayer (which acquired Monsanto, the maker of Roundup) agreed to pay more than $10.9 billion to resolve tens of thousands of lawsuits from people who used Roundup and were diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Individual claims are still being reviewed. A proposed national class to resolve future claims received preliminary attention in federal court in early 2026.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are manmade chemicals used in nonstick pans, firefighting foam, food packaging, and more. They don’t break down and have been found in drinking water across the U.S. Two of the largest manufacturers — 3M and DuPont — have agreed to separate multi-billion dollar settlements with water systems nationwide. Individual exposure claims are still being evaluated.
